Co-founder.  After two years of negotiation, the Doyon Indian Confederation granted North Star the rights to explore their seven million acres of gold, silver, platinum and their other mineral deposits in Alaska. At the signing, the Doyon Council stated that “we granted you these rights because you were the only person we dealt with, who understood and addressed the project from our point of view.”  Mr. Stanson then spent for two seasons living with rural, native Doyon families, When gold was only about $300/ounce, his company invested approximately $4,000,000 in exploration. A delegation of Doyon board members and executives traveled to New York and presented him their heartfelt awards and special Doyon tribal honors.
